Veritas boys 51, Topeka Heritage 18

? Elijah Penny scored 20 points for Veritas — more than the entire Topeka Heritage team scored in the Eagles’ 33-point win. Andrew Currier scored 13 points.

Veritas held Heritage (5-4) to nine points in each half.

Coach Gary Hammer praised Penny and Currier for their performances on offense and Thomas Bachert for his performance on defense.

“It was one of those types of games where a lot of different people got to play,” Hammer said.

“The guys played hard, and they deserved the victory. It was a big win for us.”

Veritas (6-3) hosts St. Mary’s today.
