A Lawrence woman fled from officers after reports that she was seen shoplifting at Kohl’s Department Store, 3240 Iowa. The woman ran to Walmart, 3300 Iowa, and then called 911, telling dispatch that there was bomb on site.

“It was an attempt to get us to respond to a false alarm so she could evade arrest,” said Lawrence police Sgt. Trent McKinley. Officers determined that there was not a threat, and it was the woman who had made the call. McKinley said that she was then arrested.
