• An entry in the male arrested-development genre, “Comic Book Men” (9 p.m., AMC) consists of writer/director Kevin Smith hanging out with his New Jersey pals discussing comic book lore for a podcast.

We also meet outsiders who arrive at their Red Bank, N.J., shop to see what their collections are worth. Like any gaggle of buddies, Smith and his entourage laugh frequently one another’s jokes and asides. Even when they’re not terribly funny. That’s what friends are for.
