Seabury girls defeat Topeka Heritage

Alexa Gaumer scored 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Courtney Hoag totaled 21 points, 12 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead Seabury’s girls basketball team past Topeka Heritage, 60-50, on Friday night at Seabury.

The Seahawks broke a four-game losing streak and improved to 7-6.

“We followed the game plan and had a strong finish at the end,” Seabury coach Becky Bridson said. “They hit some key free throws and made some steals.”

Sarah McDermott added eight rebounds and three steals, Padget Sutherland had five rebounds, and Taylor Sweeney snared four rebounds.

Seabury will play Tuesday at St. James Academy.
