City basketball roundup: Veritas boys rally to win at St. Mary’s

Veritas 38, St. Mary’s 33

St. Marys — Veritas won a back-and-forth game at St. Mary’s Academy, 38-33, after trailing by six points midway through the fourth quarter.

Andrew Currier scored a game-high 15 points for Veritas.

Veritas (12-6) plays Saturday in Eudora against Derby Invasion at 5 p.m.

Seabury 64, Wetmore 42

Georgi Funtarov scored 33 points, and Thomas Diaz pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Seabury’s boys basketball team past Wetmore at Seabury.

Seabury (7-9) will play host to Topeka Heritage on Friday.

Girls

Wetmore 62, Seabury 37

Alexa Gaumer scored 17 points and Courtney Hoag added 10, but Seabury team fell to Wetmore.

Gaumer totaled four steals, three rebounds and two assists and went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line

Seabury (6-6) will play host to Topeka Heritage on Friday.
