Aquahawks openings: The Lawrence Aquahawks swimming team is always accepting new members. The Aquahawks are a year-round USA Swimming-sponsored competitive swim team. The Aquahawks offer a swim lesson program and competitive swim team for all ages. The Aquahawks are coached by professional coaches with weekly practices geared toward a variety of skill levels. Vipers looking: Lawrence Vipers are looking for girls with 1997/98 birthdays for a 14U C softball team. The team is looking for a catcher, shortstop and outfielder, but all positions are welcome. Love 2 Run: The third-annual Love 2 Run-Lawrence will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 11. The USATF Certified four-mile couples-themed run will start and finish at Free State High. Participants can enter as an individual or as a couple. Registration/packet pickup will be at Garry Gribble’s Running Sports from 3-6 p.m. on Feb. 10. and 8-9 race morning in the Free State gym. Soccer camps: Kaw Valley Soccer will hold winter soccer camps for preschoolers (9-9:50 a.m.) and K-3 (10-10:50 a.m.) on Feb. 4, 11, 18, 25 and March 3 at Sunflower Elementary. Cost is $45. There also will be two free sessions for All Girls Academy for girls 8-12 form 11 a.m.-noon on Feb. 4 and 25 at Sunflower Elementary. Jayhawk Baseball Camp: The Jayhawks Baseball Camp winter/spring offerings are hitting academies: four-week sessions in February, March, April; ages 8-18, $125 — high school players may attend only in February; pitching/catching academy: four-week session starting Feb. 7, ages 10-18, $125; spring training: grades K-8, March 19-20, $75. ‘Pi Day’ half-marathon slated: The Lawrence Trail Hawks will host the “Pi Day River Rotation Half-Marathon (13.1 miles) Trail Race” on March 4 on the Kansas River trail system. The Pi-Day River Rotation Half Marathon Trail Race begins and ends by the Kansas River Trails trailhead, just off Eighth and Oak streets in North Lawrence. Youth soccer camps: Several “You are fantastic” youth soccer camps are slated on the Kansas University campus, all in room 215 at Robinson Gym. Coed third through eighth grades: 5:30-7 p.m. Mondays; coed preschool-third grades: 6-7:15 p.m. Tuesdays; girls K-4: 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesdays; girls fourth-eighth grades: 5:30-7 p.m. Thursdays.
