Local prep athletes sign with colleges

With nine Lawrence High Lions, four Free State Firebirds and a Veritas Eagle making their college choices official Wednesday, National Signing Day served as a significant moment in the lives of many city high school football players.

However, this time of year is signing season for athletes from other area schools, too — and that’s not just limited to football.
