Many cable networks have wandered and wavered from their original plan. The History Channel has never been more popular. And it occasionally airs series about history. On a recent episode of the soon-to-depart “30 Rock,” Liz Lemon jokes about the vulgarity of one of Bravo’s “Real Housewives” shows, while her boss, Jack Donaghy, shows his age by musing, “I remember when they used to show opera on Bravo.”

Of the many networks to change its stripes, at least the old Planet Green had the honesty to change its name. It’s now called Destination America — dedicated, it seems, to domestic travel and to people who travel on their stomachs.

”United States of Bacon” (9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Destination America) follows intrepid host and carnivore Todd Fisher as he scours the 50 states for new and unusual meals. He’s not celebrating bacon in its usual role as a breakfast side dish served with eggs and toast. He’s after people who incorporate bacon into unusual menus, even serving it with ice cream, jam and cocktails.

• Filmmaker Steven Spielberg and composer John Williams discuss their decadeslong collaboration on such movies as “Jaws,” ”Close Encounters” and “Schindler’s List” on a segment of “AFI Master Class” (7 p.m. Sunday, TCM), first aired in 2011.

While younger filmmakers and many of Spielberg’s contemporaries have opted to use existing and familiar pop and rock music to create soundtracks, Spielberg has stuck to the “old school” notion of marrying an original score to the motion picture, a process, he explains, that is essential to his storytelling.

• If the force isn’t with you, you can spend the day lollygagging on the couch with a “Star Wars” marathon on Spike. It includes “Episode III: Revenge of the Sith” (2:53 p.m.), “Episode IV: A New Hope” (6:07 p.m.) and “Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back” (9:11 p.m.).

• The Washington Redskins host the Dallas Cowboys in “Sunday Night Football” (8:20 p.m., NBC).
