Eudora city and Eudora township firefighters responded to a chimney fire around 7 p.m. Saturday near 12th and Elm Streets.

Pete Feyerabend, the city’s interim fire chief, said crews made short work of the fire, which was contained to the chimney and did not damage the rest of the house.

Feyerabend said a buildup of debris likely contributed to the fire, which was under control by 7:15 p.m. The family was cleared to re-enter the house Saturday night.
