Area athletes invited to Shrine Bowl

December 27, 2012

Area football players Nick Becker of Eudora High, Dayton Valentine of Baldwin, Marc Walbridge of McLouth and Staton Rebeck of Mill Valley have been selected to represent the East all-star team in the Kansas Shrine Bowl.

They will team with city selections Cody Stanclift, Free State, and Brad Strauss, Lawrence, in the 40th Shrine Bowl on July 27, 2013, at Washburn University, in Topeka.

The city products will have a familiar assistant coach on the East staff in FSHS head coach Bob Lisher. This marks Lisher’s fourth time serving as a Shrine Bowl coach — his third as an assistant after serving as head coach in 2006.

Ah, a few posts and a few phone calls and we got the "other" local guys included. Thanks!
Too bad you've missed the opportunity to highlight a Lawrence boy/Eudora graduate that is playing in the Orange Bowl tonight! Boomer Mays is a linebacker for the NIU Huskies - #45. GO BOOMER!
