Letter: No response

To the editor:

On Nov. 3, the U.S. Postal Service conducted a meeting in Lecompton to discuss and answer questions relative to the Lecompton post office.

Present at the meeting were representatives of Gov. Brownback, Sens. Roberts and Moran, and Rep. Jenkins, along with state Sens. Hensley and Francisco, state Rep. Tom Sloan and 100 Lecompton residents.

The two USPS representatives could not answer the many questions asked by those present. Kevin Billings, USPS operations manager, said he would have Richard Watkins, USPS corporate communications representative, contact the City of Lecompton to answer the many unanswered questions.

As of Dec. 17, no further communications have been received.

One must assume that USPS not only has no respect for the residents of the Lecompton-Big Springs-Stull area but also no respect for any of our state and federal elected officials.
