Organizers of the Lawrence Community Christmas Dinner are seeking donations of turkeys and hams.

According to Kent Ely, a member of the organizing committee for the annual event, the group needs 50 turkeys that weigh between 12 and 14 pounds and 35 boneless hams that weigh 5 pounds.

Anyone interested in donation is encouraged to call Ely between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. at 760-2943. Ely said he hoped to have all meat for the Christmas Day dinner donated by Tuesday, Dec. 18.

The dinner, which is open to anyone, will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 25, at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vermont St.
