Eudora ? Lawrence High’s wrestling team tied for eighth among 22 teams Saturday at the Eudora Tournament, led by second-place finishes by Andrew Denning and Alan Clothier.

Denning placed second at 160 pounds, and Clothier was second at 170.

Xavier Kenney (106) took third, Caden Lynch (138) fourth, Alex Jones (285) sixth, and Isaias Rojo (152) took seventh.

“We did really well for having less than half a team there,” LHS coach Pat Naughton said. “We’ve had some sickness and injuries that didn’t allow us to field a full team. The guys that were there were really outstanding and allowed us to finish in the top 10. They kind of bonded together and made the most of what they can do. I’m pretty proud of what they did today.”

The Lions will play host to Gardner-Edgerton on Wednesday and Garden City on Thursday.
