Jefferson County man pleads guilty to two counts of manslaughter in auto fatality

A 32-year-old Nortonville man pleaded guilty Thursday to two counts of involuntary manslaughter In Jefferson County District Court stemming from a double-fatality accident in March.

Brian J. Keefe also pleaded guilty to two counts of driving under the influence, said Jefferson County Attorney Jason Belveal.

Keefe’s vehicle veered left of center during a two-vehicle accident that killed two occupants of another vehicle, 38-year-old Shawn K. Fraker of Winchester and 27-year-old Daniel Shawn Walker of Oskaloosa.

The crash occurred on Hickory Point Road about six miles north of Oskaloosa and just southwest of Winchester.

While Keefe was out on bond for the March accident, he was arrested again for DUI in August.

Keefe is scheduled for sentencing Jan. 10. Belveal said Keefe is likely to serve a prison sentence of between 38 to 86 months.
