K.C. Federal Reserve board leaders named

The Federal Reserve Board of Governors on Monday said it has selected a Colorado businesswoman and a New Mexico businessman as chairwoman and deputy chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank for 2013.

Barbara Mowry, CEO of GoreCreek Advisors in Greenwood Village, Colo., will serve as chairwoman. Steve Maestas, managing partner of NAI Maestas and Ward Commercial Real Estate in Albuquerque, N.M., will serve as deputy chairman of the Kansas City bank.

Besides appointing chairmen and deputy chairmen for the Federal Reserve’s 12 regional banks, the board of governors is also responsible for appointing three of the nine directors for each bank.
