Movies showing in Lawrence theaters this week included “Lady Sings the Blues,” “Bad Company,” “Boot Hill,” Roman Polanski’s “Macbeth,” George C. Scott in “Rage,” Woody Allen’s “What’s Up, Tiger Lily?” and Charles Bronson in “The Mechanic.” The Sunset Drive-In was offering “Children Shouldn’t Play With Dead Things.” Those who preferred television entertainment might have been happy to learn that despite the “formidable opposition” of both Flip Wilson and “The Mod Squad,” the new CBS show “The Waltons” had been picked up for a full season. Feeling hungry? Burgers were being offered for 19 cents (25 cents with cheese) at the Burger Hut, 1404 W. 23rd, where a hungrier crowd could purchase a “Family Pak” of six burgers (or five cheeseburgers) for a dollar.
