Overland Park ? Despite winning two of the first three sets, the Lawrence High volleyball team fell, 14-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-21, 15-8, in its season opener on Tuesday at Blue Valley West.

Caitlin Broadwell led LHS with 19 kills. Brea May had 32 assists, Zoe Reed 20 digs and Brianna Anderson 6 blocks in the loss.

The Lions (0-1) will return to action next week with a quad on Sept. 6 at LHS.
