Mission woman accused of violating probation

Ashley C. R. Johnson, 22, of Mission, was brought to the Douglas County Jail on Tuesday on a bench warrant after she was accused of violating terms of her probation in connection with a 2010 Lawrence crime spree.

According to an affidavit in the case, Johnson is accused of failing to report to her probation officer, misusing a prescription for hydrocodone and drinking alcohol, all of which are terms of her probation. A probation officer also alleges she had not been reporting for substance abuse treatment.

Johnson was sentenced to serve two years on probation last September. She had pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit robbery and misdemeanor theft in September as prosecutors alleged she drove a vehicle the night of Dec. 28 as two co-defendants committed robberies in Lawrence. They also accused Johnson of stealing a Lawrence woman’s bank card.

District Judge Michael Malone had issued a bench warrant for her arrest in May for the alleged probation violation.
