The Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum will host the Harvest Home Picnic and Music Festival on Sept. 8 in Bloomington Park on the west side of Clinton Lake.

The event will feature a potluck picnic dinner, contests and live music provided by Clifford Downing and the Wakarusa River Valley Band. The event begins at 5 p.m. and carries on into the evening. Organizers encourage eventgoers to bring a dish for the dinner and lawn chairs to sit in. Tea and lemonade will be provided.

Awards will also be given for a number of categories, including a pie to the oldest woman on the grounds and a bottle of hair color to the “red-headest girl.”
