Two Lawrence men were arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with a Monday morning altercation at an apartment in the 3500 block of West 22nd Street.

According to Lawrence Police Sgt. Trent McKinley, two men went to the apartment shortly after midnight Monday and allegedly forced their way into the apartment, seeking money owed to one of the suspects. One of the suspects battered and threatened a victim with a knife.

The suspects fled before police arrived.

On Tuesday morning, police arrested a 21-year-old Lawrence man in connection with the case. He was booked on charges of aggravated assault, aggravated burglary and aggravated battery. Bond has not yet been set.

Police also arrested an 18-year-old Lawrence man on a charge of aggravated burglary. Bond has also not been set in that case.

The Journal-World does not typically name suspects in cases until they’ve been formally charged.
