Brownback to speak at KU about economy

Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback is scheduled to speak about economic growth and Kansas tax policy next month at Kansas University.

Brownback will deliver the KU School of Business 2012 Anderson Chandler Lecture at 7 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Lied Center.

Brownback has been governor since 2011, and has also served as a U.S. senator, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and a state secretary of agriculture.

During the past legislative session, Brownback signed into law a series of income tax cuts that drew praise from conservatives but rankled critics, who said the cuts would devastate state government.
