KU releases names of staff members who accepted buyouts

Kansas University officials on Wednesday provided a list of the 97 university employees who accepted buyouts from the university.

KU officials made the list available after the Journal-World filed a request under the Kansas Open Records Act last week.

Those approved for the program received a lump sum payment of one year’s salary, up to $100,000. They will retire by Dec. 31, and their positions will be held open for at least a year.

Included in the list are 66 university support staff, 20 unclassified staff and 11 faculty members.
