From the Lawrence Daily Journal-World for April 24, 1972:

Members of Eudora High School’s Marching Band were looking forward to next month, and no wonder. Their current uniforms, purchased in the early 1950s, were being replaced with snappy new outfits with cutaway-style coats, white spats, and 12-inch synthetic fur hats. The $6,500 bill for the new uniforms was being paid by several sources, including the Eudora board of education, private donations, and the band’s own fund-raising efforts. Eudora marching-band fans would not have to wait until fall to see the brightly-colored new uniforms, as the band would march through town early in May and also would wear them at their spring concert on May 12.
