StopGap Inc. is looking for a volunteer office assistant. StopGap is a new organization seeking to provide support to youth, ages 16-21, who are aging out of foster care. The volunteer office assistant must have good decision-making and problem-solving skills, and should be comfortable working independently while still being able to collaborate with others easily. Good typing, grammatical and organizational skills are needed, as is a familiarity with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience with websites, Internet, and social media are a plus. This position will be no more than 20 hours a week, and there are no formal training requirements. • Kennedy School is in need of volunteers for its Field Day, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11a.m. May 9. Volunteers are needed to help set up the event, facilitate the different activities and clean up afterward. For more details, please contact Rose Ramirez, parent facilitator, at 785-330-2290.

• The Kansas Arthritis Foundation is in need of volunteers to help with its annual Lawrence Arthritis Walk on Saturday, May 5. Volunteers are needed for setup, registration, to ensure the safety of the walkers at street crossings and tear-down. • Tenants to Homeowners Inc. is searching for capable volunteers to design public relations materials in the form of brochures or electronic handouts for its Sept. 30 fundraiser.
