KU student says stranger pushed her to the ground outside Strong Hall

Kansas University police are investigating an incident after a student alleged a stranger pushed her to the ground on campus Monday night as she was leaving Strong Hall.

Maj. Chris Keary, assistant KU police chief, said the 19-year-old woman reported a man shoved her about 9:25 p.m. Monday as she was on the southwest side of Strong Hall. She kicked the man, and they both ran away, Keary said.

The woman reported the incident to police 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. She had a mark on her face, Keary said.

She described the suspect as a tall black male in his 40s or 50s with graying black hair. He was wearing a brown jacket.

Keary said police were still investigating the incident and asked anyone with possible information to call police at 785-864-5900 or KU Crime Stoppers at 785-864-8888.
