How to help: Lawrence Humane Society seeking homes to foster animals

Agency: Lawrence Humane Society

Contact: Maggie Cargill, 785-843-6835 or maggie@lawrencehumane.org.

Lawrence Humane Society is in need of volunteers to provide foster homes for kittens and puppies. Many animals come to the shelter too young, too small or not healthy enough for adoption yet. The only way to help these animals thrive is by having dedicated volunteers take care of them in their home for a few weeks, until they’re ready for adoption. Three foster orientations remain for the month of April: 1 p.m. Saturday, 6 p.m. April 26, and 1 p.m. April 28. No experience is required, and volunteer foster parents will be provided with all the supplies needed to take care of the animals. All potential foster homes must complete a Foster License Request through the Kansas Animal Health Department, which includes a $10 fee that is paid to the Health Department. To RSVP for one of the orientation dates, or for more details, contact Maggie Cargill at 785-843-6835 or maggie@lawrencehumane.org.
