Volunteers sought for Day of Caring

The United Way Roger Hill Center is still looking for volunteers for its annual Day of Caring on April 21.

More than 200 volunteers are needed for the event.

Each year, the center brings together volunteers from local businesses, churches, civic and student organizations along with other people to help benefit the community.

Projects include working to help spruce up several elementary schools and other nonprofit agencies in the community.

Volunteers can read specific project descriptions and sign up by going to volunteerdouglascounty.org and register directly online. People may also contact the volunteer center at 865-5030 or volunteer@rhvc.org.

“People in Douglas County are committed to service and doing their part to make our community an even better place to live,” said Shannon Reid, Volunteer Coordinator for the United Way Roger Hill Volunteer Center, in a written statement. “So I’m confident that community members will once again come together, even if just for a few hours on a Saturday morning, to accomplish some much needed work at local agencies and schools.”
