• Patricia Dardis, funeral director, and Linda Upstill, aftercare coordinator, at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home and Crematory recently attended a workshop on Grief Care: Exploring the Special Features of Sudden Death and Suicide and Helping Children and Teens Cope with Grief.

• First Watch restaurant, 2540 Iowa, raised $310 for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on April 2. The restaurant donated its profits for the day to the foundation, in memory of former franchisee Todd Babington, who died last year.

• Lawrence Habitat for Humanity has named Lindsey Slater as its first community outreach coordinator. Before joining Habitat, Slater was K-12 education reporter for the Lawrence Journal-World and 6News Lawrence. Most recently, she was a news producer for 6News.

• Landmark National Bank, the wholly-owned bank subsidiary of Landmark Bancorp Inc., has completed its acquisition of The Wellsville Bank from Wellsville Bancshares Inc. The acquisition was effected through the merger of The Wellsville Bank with and into Landmark National Bank. The acquisition adds one additional branch, in Wellsville, to Landmark’s network, giving Landmark a total of 22 offices in 17 communities across Kansas. With combined assets of approximately $655 million after the acquisition, Landmark Bancorp Inc., the parent company of Landmark National Bank, ranks as the second-largest public bank holding company in Kansas.

Ranallo, a Kansas City native, has experience supervising conventions, events, meetings and banquets for DoubleTree by Hilton Kansas City Overland Park, Kansas City Ritz Carlton and Kansas City Marriott.
