Lawrence Public Library’s fall book sale to kick off Oct. 6

The Friends of the Lawrence Public Library’s annual fall book sale will be Oct. 6-11 in the tent at Seventh and Kentucky streets.

More than 100,000 books will be for sale, along with music, electronic games and movies. Most hardcover books will be $1.50 and paperbacks will be 75 cents.

Proceeds are support many library programs such as summer reading, author visits, material purchases and Internet access.

On Oct. 15-16 remaining books are free and people can take as many as they want.

Here’s the schedule:

• Thursday, Oct. 6 — 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Only members of the Friends can shop. Memberships will be available at the door for $10 for individuals and $15 for families.

• Friday, Oct. 7 — 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

• Saturday, Oct. 8 — 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

• Sunday, Oct. 9 — 1 p.m.-5 p.m., half-price day.

• Monday, Oct. 10 — 5 p.m.-8 p.m., $7 per bag.

• Tuesday, Oct. 11 — 5 p.m.-8 p.m., $5 per bag.

• Saturday, Oct. 15 — 10 a.m.-4 p.m., giveaway day.

• Sunday, Oct. 16 — 1 p.m.-5 p.m., giveaway day.
