Scouting news for September 24, 2011

Girl Scout cookies will arrive early in the morning on Nov. 7 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Volunteers are needed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. to sort cookie orders. During that time, troop leaders will arrive and count their orders. Volunteers will also need to help the leaders load their cars. Dollies will be provided. Passport to the Girl Scout Journey 100th Anniversary Kick-Off at the Zoo, for Girl Scouts of northeast Kansas and northwest Missouri and their families, will be Oct. 1-2 at nearby zoos. The Oct. 1 celebrations will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Kansas City Zoo, 6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, Mo.; and Sunset Zoo, 2333 Oak St., Manhattan.
