A 22-year-old Lawrence resident reported to police he was attacked and robbed early Wednesday morning while walking to his hotel room near Sixth and Iowa streets.

Sgt. Matt Sarna, a Lawrence police spokesman, said officers were called to a disturbance at 4:18 a.m. at Howard Johnson hotel, 2222 W. Sixth St., and the victim alleged two unidentified men attacked him as he was walking to his hotel room with a female acquaintance.

The man told police the suspects took his wallet and other personal belongings, and the woman left the area during the disturbance. The victim suffered a cut to his arm but declined medical attention.

“There have been no suspects identified at this time,” Sarna said, “and the investigation is ongoing,”
