The Lawrence Humane Society is seeking the community’s help in housing owner-submitted dogs through Sept. 17.

The solicitation is necessary because repairs to kennel floors will be performed starting at the beginning of the month. The Humane Society will continue to admit stray and lost animals during the time of construction.

The local animal shelter is asking residents to house the animals for five days in a campaign it has dubbed “Five days for Fido.” Those interested in the temporary foster care must attend a foster care informational meeting next weekend as well as complete a shelter foster home application, ensuring the provision of care for the five-day period.
