The Lawrence driver’s license office will be closed Wednesday morning for installation of new equipment and software to simplify the driver’s license process and verify documents.

The office at 1035 N. Third St., Suite 122, will be closed in the morning for the upgrade and employee training then re-open at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

“We are constantly searching for ways to make the process of getting a driver’s license more convenient and secure for Kansans,” said state Director of Vehicles Donna Shelite. “This upgrade is another step in that right direction,” she said.
