KU forward Thomas Robinson hyperextends knee, could miss a few days of practice

Kansas forward Thomas Robinson is a junior from Washington, D.C.

Kansas University junior forward Thomas Robinson hyperextended his left knee in practice on Thursday and could miss a few days of practice, coach Bill Self said Thursday night.

“The results from the MRI were positive for Thomas,” Self said. “He will take a couple of days off to let it calm down but hopefully will not miss any significant time.”

Robinson’s status is in question for Tuesday’s exhibition opener against Pittsburg State.

Also, Self indicated that Anthony West, a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward out of Shawnee Mission East, is practicing with the team.

“He went through walk-on tryouts,” Self said. “He impressed us. He will be part of the practice squad. We’ll evaluate him as we go forward.”

West was a member of the KU women’s basketball practice squad last year.
