Man indicted on drugs, weapons charges

A federal grand jury in Kansas City, Kan., has indicted a 21-year-old Topeka man, who is accused of robbing a Kansas University student in 2009, on federal drug and weapons charges, according to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom’s office.

Federal prosecutors accuse Terrance Anthony Dean Jr. of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime and unlawful possession of a firearm while charged with a felony in state district court. Prosecutors allege he possessed a shotgun and ammunition Sept. 19 in Shawnee County.

Dean in September was brought to Douglas County to face aggravated robbery and conspiracy charges for an April 29, 2009, robbery of a male KU student at gunpoint outside McCollum Hall.
