KU soccer wins in OT

? Kansas University freshman Ingrid Vidal recorded her fourth game-winning goal in KU’s 2-1 overtime victory over Creighton on Sunday.

Vidal’s winner, her 10th goal of the season, came in the third minute of OT off an assist from freshman Jamie Fletcher.

The Jayhawks (9-6) improved to 3-1 in overtime goals this season. Creighton fell to 7-5-1 overall.

Kansas caught a break during the first minute of overtime when Creighton had two shots hit the crossbar, but Kansas’ defense was able to clear the rebound both times to prevent a Bluejay goal.

Kansas jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when sophomore defender Shannon Renner ran down the sideline and crossed it into the box, where she found Fletcher, who turned and fired it into the goal just 2:39 into the match. For Fletcher, it was her sixth goal of the season while the assist from Renner was her first of the season.

KU will travel to Texas Tech on Friday.
