Lawrence High senior Reece Wright-Conklin signed a letter of intent with the Newman University wrestling program on Tuesday afternoon at the LHS cafeteria.

Wright-Conklin, who has already won two state championships, enters his senior year ranked as the top-ranked 182-pounder in Class 6A by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association, which has the Lions as its preseason No. 1 team in 6A.

Newman, in Wichita, is a NCAA Division II Heartland Conference program.
