Kansas announces athlete signings

Three Kansas University coaches announced national letter-of-intent signing recently.

• Men’s golf coach Kit Grove announced the signing of Prem “Ben” Samritpricha, a Bangkok native who spent the past five years splitting time between the IMG Leadbetter Academy and the Pendleton School in Bradenton, Fla. He is ranked 82nd nationally by Golfweek.

• Swimming coach Clark Campbell signed three swimmers and a diver. The swimmers: Bryce Hinde, from Fort Scott; Haley Molden, Topeka; and Chelsie Miller, Houston. The diver is Meredith Brownwell, from Union, Ky.

“Our primary focus (for this signing class) was a small but highly talented group of athletes,” Campbell said. “We are excited about our class, which is small in number but is a very high-quality class nonetheless.”

• Women’s golf landed Garden City’s Mackenzie Thayer and Yupaporn (Mook) Kawinpakorn of Bangkok. Thayer was the Class 6A state champion. Kawinpakorn was a two-time member of the Thai national team and the 2010 Thailand Amateur Stroke Play champion.
