Friday marked the third straight day an area athlete signed to play sports at the college level.

Lawrence High senior Lauren Bryn had her signing ceremony after school in the LHS library. She will play softball for Washburn University, in Topeka.

On Thursday, Free State High softball teammates Alex Hill and Sam O’Brien signed letters of intent at the FSHS library. Hill will join the Rockhurst University softball program in Kansas City, Mo., and O’Brien will play at Wayne State College, in Wayne, Neb.

De Soto’s Becca Maasen, meanwhile, signed to play volleyball at Washburn.
