The Trinity Episcopal Church’s annual Ploughman’s Lunch and Trinity Treasures Sale will be Thursday at the church, 1011 Vt. The sale will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the English pub tradition, we will serve soups, cheese, Wheatfield’s bread, and apple pie and coffee or tea. Katie and Curt Elsbury, Milwaukee, announce the birth of their daughter, Elizabeth Marie Elsbury, on Oct. 11, 2011, in Brookfield, Wis.

Her maternal grandparents are Ray and Jean Finch, Lawrence; and her paternal grandparents are Roger and Kelly Elsbury, and Cynthia Elsbury, all of Topeka.

The Lawrence Accredited Music Teachers Association will present a piano-voice recital at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Lawrence. The students represent the studios of Sue Finley-Evans, Jean Spooner, Jean Drumm, Evelyn Falen, Sarah Higgins, Carol Cook, Carol Ross, Micheal Schnelling and Elaine de San Miguel.

Maria and Tyler Pearce, Olathe, announce the birth of their son, Adrian Arthur Pearce, on Oct. 11, 2011, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

His maternal grandmother is Roberta Benitez, South Hutchinson; and his paternal grandparents are John and Judy Burch, Lawrence, and Harold and Liz Pearce, Castle Rock, Colo.

His great-grandparents are Arthur and Arlene Gulliver, Bellevue, Neb., Bernice King, Lawrence, and Elsie Burch, Mechanicsburg, Pa.

John Berkowitz, Lawrence, earned a bachelor’s degree with dual majors in physics and mathematics May 8 at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Berkowitz graduated with cum laude honors and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies. He also received the Dr. and Mrs. C.J. Walter Prize in Mathematics and Computer Science and the Physics Endowed Research Prize. Berkowitz, a 2007 graduate of Free State High School, is the son of David and Katherine Berkowitz.

During Emporia State University’s Summer Theatre production of “I Love to Tell the Story,” Trinity Standridge, Bonner Springs, was assistant to the costume designer. The show ran June 8-11.

The Kansas Youth Leadership Forum for Students with Disabilities was June 14-18 at Washburn University. Monica Long, Eudora, was one of 26 young leaders attending the 2011 forum. This year’s theme was “Believe More. Do More. Be More!”

Mary Clippinger, Baldwin City, was awarded a bachelor’s degree with dual majors in chemistry and history this spring from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa.
