Event support

To the editor:

The Willow Domestic Violence Center wishes to thank everyone who helped make the Red Shoe Walk and 5K festivities on May 6 a success. It was great to see all the 5K runners, along with so many men and women walking a mile in heels to promote awareness about domestic violence. I would personally like to thank the participants, donors, volunteers, staff, board members and the generosity of Haskell Indian Nations University for making all of this possible.

With the perfect weather, a great turnout, awesome Red Shoe Calendar sales and the Red Shoe Walk & 5K, we were not only able to meet but exceed our expectations for this event! Results of the 5K, pictures, a list of the local businesses and individual sponsors can be found by visiting our website www.realmenwearheels.org. Planning for our May 6, 2012, Red Shoe Walk and 5K has begun, and we are very enthusiastic that this will be an even larger, fun-packed family evening. Be sure to join us.

One last very big “thank you” to you, the community, for your support, enthusiasm, and generosity.
