Kansas City Chiefs fill five semitrailers with tornado relief supplies

? The Kansas City Chiefs have sent five semitrailers with donated supplies to the tornado-ravaged communities of Reading, Kan., and Joplin, Mo.

Team owner Clark Hunt and general manager Scott Pioli pitched in Wednesday to help unload bottled water and other items as a steady procession of cars, SUVs and pickup trucks streamed into the Arrowhead Stadium parking lot. A Chiefs spokesman estimated more than 168,000 bottles of water had been donated by Kansas City residents.

At the suggestion of relief officials, the Chiefs on Wednesday also collected gloves, batteries, trash bags and flashlights.

The Chiefs also collected cash, including $108 that three children raised with a lemonade stand.
