Kansas City, Mo. ? The Kansas City Royals placed right-hander Kyle Davies on the disabled list Wednesday and selected the contract of left-hander Danny Duffy from Triple-A Omaha.

Duffy made his major-league debut Wednesday night against Texas.

Davies is being treated for right rotator cuff inflammation. The Royals also designated pitcher Kanekoa Texeira for assignment.
