Events, ceremonies to honor KU graduates

Kansas University has a wide array of events and ceremonies associated with commencement this week, leading up to the university’s main ceremony Sunday.

The 139th KU commencement ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, as graduates begin their traditional march through the Campanile and down the hill to Memorial Stadium.

Today

6 p.m., Hyatt Regency Crown Center, 2345 McGee St., Kansas City, Mo. Dinner for School of Medicine graduates.

Friday

1 p.m., Lied Center. School of Social Welfare recognition for bachelor’s of social welfare candidates.

1 p.m., Kansas Union, Woodruff Auditorium. Recognition ceremony for graduating international students. Reception follows in the Jayhawk Room.

3:30 p.m., Kansas Union, Woodruff Auditorium. Department of communication studies undergraduate recognition ceremony. Reception follows in the Big 12 Room.

3:30 p.m., Lied Center. School of Social Welfare hooding for master’s of social work candidates.

4 p.m., Kansas Union, Kansas Room. Department of sociology undergraduate recognition ceremony. Reception follows in the Malott Room.
