10 KU faculty win Fulbrights to teach or perform research abroad

Ten members of the Kansas University faculty have earned Fulbright awards to teach or perform research abroad.

Recipients include: Santa Arias, associate professor of Spanish and Portuguese; Hannah Britton, associate professor of political science and women, gender and sexuality studies; Bart Dean, associate professor of anthropology; Michael Detamore, associate professor of chemical and petroleum engineering; Terry L. Koenig, associate professor of social welfare; Sanjay Mishra, associate professor of business; Town Peterson, distinguished professor of ecology and evolutionary biology; Antonio Simoes, professor of Spanish and Portuguese; Dale Urie, lecturer in humanities and Western civilization and European studies; and Nathan Wood, associate professor of history.

Ten is the second-highest number of faculty selected at KU in one year since the program began in 1946. More than 280 faculty members have received Fulbright grants during that time.
