Topeka ? Starting next year, all voters will be required to show photo ID before casting a ballot under legislation sent to Gov. Sam Brownback on Tuesday.

The House approved Senate changes to the bill on a 111-11 vote. Brownback has said he supports the proposal.

The legislation was championed by Secretary of State Kris Kobach, a Republican, who made allegations of voter fraud a major issue in his successful race for office.

The Senate, however, trimmed back a couple of Kobach’s provisions.

The Senate deleted authorization for the secretary of state to file charges in election fraud cases, and it delayed until 2013 a provision requiring that new Kansas voters show proof of citizenship to register.
