Kansas man pleads guilty in staging bank holdup in Overland Park
Kansas City, Kan. ? A Kansas man has pleaded guilty to being part of an amateur scheme to steal money from a bank.
Eighteen-year-old Brendan L. Connors, of Overland Park, pleaded guilty Monday to helping stage a kidnapping and bank robbery at the U.S. Bank in Overland Park.
Prosecutors say Connors and three others stole money from the bank then staged a kidnapping and bank robbery to cover it up.
One of the four, 20-year-old Michael Grace, was a teller at the bank. Last November, Grace said he was kidnapped, taken to the bank and forced to withdraw money. He was found inside the bank bound to a chair.
The story quickly fell apart and the four were arrested. The other three co-defendants are scheduled for change of plea hearings.
