Topeka man sentenced to at least 50 years for shooting death

? A Topeka man given a “hard 50” prison sentence in another man’s shooting death continues to insist that he was not guilty.

Twenty-three-year-old Trevejon Maurice Killings was sentenced to at least 50 years in prison with no chance of parole Thursday for the January, 2010, death of 24-year-old Antonio Jackson.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Killings insisted to the court that he did not kill Jackson.

Jackson was shot at a Topeka apartment while several other people, including a child, were present.

Shawnee County District Judge Cheryl Kingfisher said Killings was beaten and robbed by Jackson and another man a month before Jackson was shot. The dispute involved drug deals.
