Power restored to Westar Energy customers in south Lawrence after Thursday morning outage
Service has been restored to all Westar Energy customers in south Lawrence and Douglas County, according to the company’s website.
A planned outage for 47 customers near 28th Street west of Iowa Street unexpectedly increased to more than 150 customers about 9 a.m. Thursday.
Crews restored power to customers by using an “alternate feed,” but the cause of the increased outage is still being investigated, Westar said on Twitter.
Customers affected by the outage were without power for about two hours.
