Teachers Hall of Fame to induct latest class

? The National Teachers Hall of Fame in Emporia is preparing to induct its latest class.

The honorees are Walter Patrick Earle of McBee, S.C.; Debra Howell of Granite Falls, Wash.; Paul Miller of Baltimore; James Percoco of Springfield, Va.; and Mark Weaver of Carmel, Ind.

Induction festivities are planned from June 15 through June 17.

The events will include a roundtable discussion, a banquet and an outdoor viewing of the 1988 hit movie “Stand and Deliver” about a math teacher’s efforts to push underachieving students to succeed.

This will be the 20th group of teachers inducted into the Hall of Fame.
